Top FIVE Ways to Find Romance at Walt Disney World
1. Southern Sassagoula
Start the evening with a smooth Southern Hurricane at River Roost Lounge while YeeHaa Bob Jackson entertains you with his wacky piano playing and singing. This recipient of the 2013 Disney Legacy Award has been entertaining audiences at Walt Disney World for more than 20 years. After the show, take a leisurely ferryboat ride from Port Orleans – Riverside to Disney Springs via the at Sassagoula River. Finish your date by exploring the many retail shopping and dining locations along the gorgeously themed Disney Springs.
2. Burgers and Brew
Step back in time to the charm of the Atlantic Seashore with this sweet date! The evening begins with a stop at the quaint and cute Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Transport yourself back in time at this old-fashioned soda shop where budget-friendly burgers and sundaes reign supreme. Share a shake with your sweetheart or splurge on a “kitchen sink” – scoops of every flavor of ice cream covered with every topping they have. Stroll hand-in-hand over to Disney’s vibrant Boardwalk, a quarter-mile promenade filled with evening street performers, midway games and nightlife styled after Atlantic City. Finish the evening with a Coney Island Hard Root Beer at AbracadaBar where magic and illusion will amaze and delight.
3. World Travelers
No need to pack your suitcase or stamp your passport with this date! Epcot’s World Showcase is the most budget-friendly date for any world traveler! Start the evening with a tequila flight at La Cava del Tequila or split a bottle of wine at Tutto Gusto in Italy. Explore the decadent cuisine of Morocco at Tangerine Café where shareable plates make for an intimate dining experience. Next, delight in rich, buttery pastries from France’s Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie for dessert. Finally, grab a souvenir of your “travels” at one of the many international shopping spots around the World Showcase. My favorite is Japan’s Mitsukoshi Department Store which offers an endless array of intriguing merchandise. Finish the evening by finding a cozy spot on the water’s edge with your loved one while watching the IllumiNations fireworks reflect color and splendor across the World Showcase.
4. Passionate Performance
A night at the Grand Floridian does not have to break the bank. Each night from 4pm until 10pm, the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra floods the resort with music. Find a cozy spot on one of the elegant lobby’s comfy loveseats and sway to the beat as the orchestra plays a variety of ragtime, dixie, jazz, and even some Disney favorites! Conclude the evening by stepping outside to the waterfront to watch the Electric Water Pageant. Entirely free and entirely delightful!
5. The Kiss Goodnight
It is the simplest, purest moment of sweet magic that takes place 30 minutes after park closing. If you are so lucky to witness “The Kiss Goodnight” at Magic Kingdom, this is the epitome of Disney Magic. And sharing the moment with the one you love is icing on the cake! Lasting a mere two minutes, it is the shortest date imaginable and perhaps the most romantic date in all of Walt Disney World. For just a few short minutes, all your cares wash away as the two of you are captivated by twinkling lights dancing across Cinderella Castle’s glowing exterior. Enraptured by the instrumental Wish Upon a Star and the words of Walt himself, the final bow at Magic Kingdom is a moment that transcends all time. It is a moment to be cherished together with the one you love. What you do with the rest of the evening is up to you!
