Tasty Treat: Pork Spare Ribs
Over the last few years, Disney has really stepped up with new fine dining options that offer tasty treats which are worth trying. Today, we are going to visit a restaurant that has a dish which calls my name every time I visit Orlando – Pork Spare Ribs.
What is it?
Pork Spare Ribs slow roasted and then flash fired and dipped in hoisin sweet chili glaze. Garnished with cilantro.
Why try it?
Served in a half rack or a full rack, this appetizer is easy to share, but you may not want to. The pork is fall-off-the-bone tender and melts in your mouth with each bite. What makes these ribs unique is the flash fired treatment used to finish the cooking process. The crispy outer crust created by the flash fire is a unique contrast of texture against the fork-tender rib meat. The hoisin chili glaze is sticky and sweet and clings to the delicate, yet crunchy exterior. It is definitely a four napkin treat! The layers of flavor – roast … fire … glaze create a bold and savory explosion of joy with every bite!
Where can I find it?
Guest seeking to try this tasty treat can find it on the menu at Disney’s signature restaurant, Morimoto Asia, in Disney Springs.
Disney Springs is quickly becoming a destination for premium dining options that rival those tried and true favorites at Epcot, the well known foodie theme park. Most people are familiar with Japanese master chef Masaharu Morimoto from his regular appearances on Iron Chef America. His Disney Springs restaurant, Morimoto Asia, has a carefully crafted menus that includes both approachable offerings for those new to asian cuisine and intriguing options for adventurous eaters. In addition to the Pork Spare Ribs, Morimoto Asia’s pan-asian cuisine also features a few of his signature dishes from his other restaurants across the globe.
Those looking for a quicker grab-and-eat option can often spot Morimoto’s Pork Spare Ribs at Morimoto Street Food, the outdoor quick service counter located just adjacent to the main restaurant.
Have you tried these yet? If not, stop on by Morimoto Asia and let me know what you think of the Pork Spare Ribs!
