Disney Skyliner Coming to Walt Disney World
It was Walt Disney who said, “We keep moving forward- opening up new doors and doing new things.” In keeping with Walt’s original vision of constant progression, Disney has recently announced their creative curiosity has led them to start the construction of a new gondola transportation system, the Disney Skyliner!
The Skyliner is promising to add even more magic to your vacation experience by providing a scenic way to travel between Disney’s Hollywood Studios, International Gateway at Epcot, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and the proposed newest Disney Vacation Club property that will be called Disney Riviera Resort.
This transportation system will consist of three different lines that all converge at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Each individual cabin can hold up to eight adults and will be large enough for strollers, wheelchairs and electronic scooters. While they will not provide air conditioning, only air vents that provide passive cooling, they have promised Wifi will be available in all cabins.
There’s no set date as to when guests can expect their first ride on the gondolas but you can expect them to be open by early 2019.

Bob Chapek, Disney Parks Chairman was recently quoted last month at the D23 Expo saying, “I’m proud to announce that we’re building a whole new transportation system. The Disney Skyliner will soon give our guests a bird’s eye view of the Walt Disney World. Many of these gondolas will feature your favorite Disney characters and what a better way to get around the resort than with your pals in the sky.”
I couldn’t agree with him more, Disney never ceases to amaze with their innovative ways of bringing unique experience to their guests!
The good news is you don’t have to wait for the Skyliner to be in place for you to visit Walt Disney World and enjoy a magical time. Please feel free to reach out to our friends at MickeyTravels for a FREE quote!
