Where to Stay Wednesday – Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is a moderate resort and the first resort my children remember staying at, so it holds a special place in my heart. It has one of our favorite pools on Disney property, a great quick service food court and is very conveniently located to three of the four Disney parks making transportation seem like a breeze!
This resort has been undergoing room refurbishments and I was fortunate enough to receive a private tour of them even before guests had the opportunity to stay in one of these new rooms. The updates are truly amazing giving these rooms such a fresh and clean feel.
My favorite update to these rooms that especially help in keeping them clean during your stay are the elevated beds.
If you have ever been on a Disney cruise ship you know exactly what I am talking about.
The beds are not longer flush to the floor or even sporting the old school bed skirt, but they are raised enough that your luggage can slide easily underneath them. This gives you even more room in your room! LOL!
5 top reasons why I love this resort:
1. Theming/Atmosphere!
This may be because I have always loved those all-inclusive trips to Mexico! Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort boasts a feeling of Spanish Colonial Mexico yet still evokes the magic of Disney in you around every corner.
(Don’t forget to make time to just take a lap around the lake at this resort on the amazing walking trails so you can take it all in! Disney is continuing to build onto the landscape by adding floating gardens and a series of bridges further connecting this picture perfect resort.)
2. The Dig Site Pool!
The Southwestern theming around this very large pool really makes you feel as if you are in Mexico. Complete with a 50-foot replica of a Mayan pyramid and a Jaguar slide. A little known fact to most is that this pool site hosts the largest hot tub on Disney property accommodating up to 22 people!
3. Pepper Market!
This food court style quick-service location is one of my favorite! There is a wide variety of food and drink offered here that make dining easy to please for every guest.
4. It’s a Convention Resort!
But why does this make me happy? I have found that when this resort is full of convention clients, the pool is less crowded and the busses are less full as these Disney guests are in meetings most of their days.
Their meeting are more magical at Disney and my resort is more magical seeming less crowded.
5. Big things are happening
Big things are happening! I love that Disney is always on top of re-imagining their resorts…and Coronado Springs is getting an amazing addition!
The expansion will include a new 15-story tower that will add 500 rooms, featuring suites and concierge level services. This new tower will overlook Lago Dorado lake and offer a new rooftop dining experience with panoramic views of the nighttime fireworks from the nearby Disney parks!
I have stayed in every section of this resort and can’t wait to stay in the new tower!
Coronado Springs has been a truly magical place to stay at in the past, I am excited to stay there again very soon and enjoy the room renovations first hand, and there is so much to look forward to with the expansion currently going on! Coronado Springs past, present and future…magical.
